it was pj day at school today! the kids were so excited! maybe a little too excited and a little confused - i think they thought they were going to the pizza pj party again. malloy was saying how she wasn't going to class today, that she was just having a party. i explained to her what pj day was about. when i took rex to his class and said goodbye, his shoulders hunched, he hung his head, and huge crocodile tears fell silently. i felt awful!! he got over it quickly and had a fun day up until the end of  the day when he tripped and hit the corner of his eye on a chair. he wasn't crying when i got there, but it looked pretty nasty! 

i had to lay with rex and firmly hug him for a while until he calmed down and went to sleep. it was a lot easier than yesterday!!! i'd rather hold him a bit every day and have him get enough sleep than have a sick kid for the rest of the year! i feel like they keep getting sick because they weren't getting enough sleep! 

malloy woke up and said "sorry i didn't go right to sleep. sorry i was playing with my dollhouse but i just love it." so apparently she was playing with her dollhouse before she napped. fine with me! it was quiet and she did nap! her new thing is that she says 'sorry' about EVERYTHING!! i'm pretty sure that's something i do. it's constant, though, and most of the time the apology is unnecessary.
