the adventures of malloy and rex

sooooooooo, tuesday night was horrible! malloy was awake from 12am - 5am. at 2am, i went down and both her and rex were awake and playing in her bed. we tried having her sleep on the couch. twice. it didn't work. finally at 5am, with neal on the couch trying to get rex to sleep and me in malloy's bed trying to get her to sleep without success, we decided to restart. so we got up, had a snack, read a few books, and then they went to sleep!! it was crazy! and we decided that it was time to split them up.

both kids went to school on wednesday even after the very rough night! i had to co-op so we had to go, otherwise, i don't think they would have went to school! malloy did ok - she melted down at the end of the day because she couldn't sit by gianna, but did much better than i expected!! rex did great, too!

after nap, i started moving furniture around and whipped up a room for rex! he loves it!! and so does malloy. as soon as i got everything neat and orderly, they went in and destroyed it! they had so much fun playing with "rex's" toys and "malloy's" toys.

last night, i told malloy that i was not coming in and that i would see her in the morning. she started crying as soon as we shut the door because she wanted her pants off (which we told her she shouldn't wear!! ugh!) she cried for a very long time, then got up and went to the bathroom, took her own pants off, then yelled for neal to wipe her. he did and then laid with her in bed for a little bit at her request. i was already in bed with the fan on full blast so that i wouldn't hear her all night. i heard her at 5am because she was in the bathroom and wanted to be wiped. i did go down and wipe her, but she pulled her underwear up, and put herself back to bed.

i honestly don't know if malloy slept or cried all night. i asked her and she told me she slept. she seemed to be ok! we had a fun and busy morning!! we started at the dentist. the kids love going there and playing with the toys, watching movies, playing video games, and reading books. then it was time for their cleaning! they both did amazing! malloy hopped right up and was ready! rex was a little more apprehensive but laid there just the same. he did great!

after the dentist, we went to target to pick out a present for our buddy, titus. then we went to story time! the kids had so much fun!!! it was at a great little bookstore - it was so cute! miss kathy sang songs, read books, and let them play with toys. the kids also each got to pick out one book as a treat for doing such a great job at the dentist.

naps went well! it was rex's first time napping in his room. his curtains don't block as much light so he can see everything and play. i only had to speak to him once about staying in bed! malloy asked to take a nap before lunch was over!

after nap, we went to the gym, ran quickly to wegmans, and then home for dinner. we've been having chicken and salad the past few nights. both kids love it! it still amazed me that they love to eat salad!! of course, their favorite thing is the croutons, which they eat separately. my kids LOVE croutons and would choose them for a snack over cookies or candy. they even asked for them for breakfast this morning! i also found that rex loves loves loves cherry tomatoes. he ate a TON of them for dinner!

bedtime went very smoothly!! malloy didn't cry at all (amazing what happens when she goes to bed without pants!!) and rex cried for a few minutes but then stopped on his own and went to sleep!
