thursday

it was green day at ANS and i got to co-op today! we brought shamrock cookies and green gatorade for snack. malloy was so excited about celebrating st. patrick's day!! she's such a riot to watch at school! 

while malloy and i were at school, rex stayed with katie. he was loving emery - hugging her and holding her. he was a good boy! unfortunately, in the afternoon, he started throwing up :( i really hope that he didn't get safina and emery sick!! in between throwing up, he was running around, we played outside - you would never even know that he was sick! he slept on my and with me on the couch until about midnight and then slept in his own bed. he was as good as new in the morning! 

the leprechauns caused mischief in the classroom while the kids were in music!

we had to cancel our st. paddy's playdate because rex was sick on thursday and we didn't want to pass on any germs. we went to the zoo instead! the kids had a great time and it was beautiful out! rex did fall and scrape his head right after we got there, but he was ok!  in the afternoon, we played outside and did some st. patrick's day crafts!

rex got up too early from nap and was still sleepy. i wrapped him in a blanket and he laid with me for a while. every time i would look down at him, he'd close his eyes and pretend he was sleeping. little joker!

 saturday

happy st. patrick's day! a little leprechaun visited during the night and caused some trouble! malloy's eyes bugged out of her head when she got up and went to the bathroom and found green toilet water!  i wish i had recorded her reaction! she was speechless for a minute and then started asking a million questions about the leprechauns. then she wouldn't come out of the bathroom until i turned some lights on - she was very nervous that the leprechaun was still in the house. i turned on the lights in the living room and she found some of her stuffed animals dressed up in st. paddy's gear. in the kitchen, the leprechaun had piled all of our shoes in the middle of the floor and put green bear in rex's wellies and snoopy in malloy's wellies! he also hid gold coins all over the house! malloy found most of the coins while rex was still sleeping. when he got up we had shamrock pancakes for breakfast!

after nap, we went to the playground to play for a bit. when we got back, neal got sick and went to bed for the night :( the kids and i had shepherd's pie for our st. patrick's day dinner. malloy loved it!

sunday

i took the kids to the gym this morning so that neal could rest. malloy took an early nap (rex just rolled around in his crib for an hour and a half) and then we headed downtown for the st. patrick's day parade. it was a bit crazy finding a parking spot  - malloy was trying to help! when i passed an open spot that was too small, she pointed it out to me. i told her we wouldn't fit and she said "just try, mommy! please just try it!" she wanted to get out of the van and to the parade so badly! once we got to the parade we had to wait for it to reach us (we were at the end of it!) the kids were fairly well behaved. rex wanted to get out and walk. i got them some cotton candy to keep the occupied but that didn't last long. they got out of the wagon and stood around it for a while. we got to see bagpipes and drums in one of the marching bands then we stuck around to see the irish dancers and then left. that was enough excitement for us! malloy and i got shamrock shakes on the way home (rex had passed out already). it was a fun afternoon!
