the adventures of malloy and rex

recap!

wednesday we had a playdate at katie's house. the kids had a great time, despite some bickering (and spitting and pushing) between the older girls. the younger sibling gang - rex, kenadee, and ben - were trying to cause some trouble of their own. they were walking around together and looked like they were scheming something! that afternoon, we watched safina and emery for a little bit. malloy was still sleeping when they got there. she was SO excited when she woke up and her friend was there! it was a fun, fast afternoon!

thursday morning, malloy went to school and rex and i went to target quick and then the gym. rex had a breakdown at the gym and was SOBBING when i came to get him :( i have no idea what was wrong!! poor guy! it took him quite a while to calm down! malloy refused to wear her sweater over her dress at school, so she was the kid wearing a sleeveless dress while all of her classmates were wearing sweaters! at least she's bundled when we're outside!

rex got his first pair of flip flops and was happy to try them out for a bit! i remember when malloy first tried flip flops she hated them!! she was cry and say that they hurt her toes. it took a while to convince her to wear them. rex put them right on! probably because he's seen malloy wear them! after nap, the kids played while i packed up all of our stuff for our visit to visit the grandparents! the drive wasn't bad. rex fell asleep after an hour and a half. malloy was up most of the trip. she finally passed out 20 minutes away from grandma's house! she was very excited for the visit! when we arrived at grandma val's, rex woke up and saw her standing waiting for us. he smiled and said "gamma". malloy woke up and was ready to play with anything and everything! she got to wear a new princess nightgown to bed that grandma made her. the kids went to bed at around 11:30pm. yikes!

the kids slept until 7:15 this morning! woohooo!!! guess the secret to getting them to sleep in is keeping them up until 11! ;) the kids had a fun-filled morning! grandma got out some new toys for them to play with - castle blocks and a wooden food picnic set. so fun! then they made st. patrick's day necklaces at their new table. they loved the table and chairs! they got to color on it with chalk later AND they ate lunch and dinner at it!
roro and papa hank came over for a visit and to have lunch. the kids were excited to see them and had no hesitation at all with either of them! they were greeted with hugs, kisses, and screaming! papa brought them a present - elbow pads! he cuts the tops off of his socks and makes them into elbow pads. (who knows?! it's papa hank we're talking about here!!) the kids LOVED them! (again, who knows?!)
after nap, malloy got to play her first game of candyland! she loved it! and she knew immediately how to play it! smart cookie! we played a few rounds before kassie came over to play. the kids love playing with her!! they played games and read some books. then grandma tappy and grandpa gary came over for pizza! they were also greated with hugs and kisses!!! malloy and rex sure do love their grandparents!! we had a nice visit and then it was off to bed!
