we have been busy!!! time to catch up! 

 monday 7/30 - after the gym, we took bottles back and did some grocery shopping. a very productive day, but nothing too exciting!

tuesday 7/31: gym and then swimming. 

wednesday 8/1: we had a quiet day at home while i cleaned the house. i had a tastefully simple that night. malloy was so excited that i was having a mommy playdate! she was very unhappy that she had to go to bed! i've never heard her cry like that at bedtime!! she stayed up the entire time that my friends were here - singing away! i finally let her come out around 10ish for a few minutes. she had some snacks and then finally went to sleep!

thursday 8/2: we went to the gym and then had to pack to go to newark valley for a long weekend!

there was a big pink moon out! it was playing hide and seek  with us the entire ride. the kids  thought 'find the moon' was a great game!

friday 8/3: we played at grandma val and grandpa don's in the morning and then went to grandpa don's  company picnic! the kids were having a great time until the Met's mascot, Ballwinkle, showed up. both kids were crying and clinging to us - they were terrified! malloy kept saying she just wanted to go home. they finally got over their fear a bit and had a cookie and some cotton candy. then it was bounce house time! malloy loved it!! rex wanted to love it but the big kids made him nervous! it was so hot that we only bounced for a little bit, then had ice cream from the ice cream truck before we left. after the picnic, we went to roro and papa hank's house! the kids played harmonica with papa and then played in a bucket of water to keep cool. roro showed up with gumdrops and some special buckets filled with treats! can't beat that! they loved their new coloring book that roro got them and colored so nicely quietly for a while before it was time to go. rex absolutely loves to color! he's starting to color "in the lines". then it was time to have dinner and grandma tappy and grandpa gary's house! uncle ryan gave rex his present. he got a mask and a rocket launcher. the mask terrified rex!!! malloy was wearing it around and he would just cry! the kids went outside to play with the rocket launcher before bath. grandma tappy washed the kids up in the bathtub. she was asking them about their day and the picnic. rex said "i was scared. i was scared of the ice cream guy" he meant the mascot. he makes me laugh with the words he chooses and how he expresses himself. i love it!

saturday 8/4: the kids went swimming in their little pool, played a mini-golf game, picked some veggies in the garden, ate lunch on the deck, then took a nap! after nap, it was time for grandma and grandpa to take over so mommy and daddy could go to a wedding! the kids went swimming in aunt amy's pool and then had dinner at roro and papa hank's. they had a great time! 

sunday 8/5: party day! the kids went with daddy over to grandma tappy's to visit while mommy and grandma val ran errands for the party. then it was naptime and PARTY TIME! rex had a LOT of family over to celebrate his second birthday! and we had extra special guests - auntie ali, uncle chen, and natalie! he did great! he loved blowing out his candles and opening his presents. he'd get close to my face and say, quietly and excitedly, "how about another present?!"

monday 8/6: we drove back to buffalo! the kids didn't sleep the entire trip! little stinkers! but they were good. they were happy to be home and ran around outside with daddy while i unpacked. then it was a quick dinner and early bedtime for everyone!

today, we went to the gym and then did some grocery shopping. after nap, we went back to the gym and then did some more grocery shopping! then we ate dinner and watched lion king. the kids got to stay up later tonight to watch the entire movie. daddy was out at a concert, so we did things a bit different, but they were great!
