wow, what a weekend!!! we were so busy i haven't had time to post! grandma val and her friend, cindy, came to visit! we also had a couple parties to go to, so we were going non-stop!

on friday, we:

• went to the pumpkin farm in the morning. it was a bit cold and looked like rain, but we chanced it and went. the kids had a great time checking out all the pumpkins and animals! malloy tried to feed the animals but freaked out when the horse got near her hand. she had more fun supplying jamie with the corn and having her feed the animals. malloy played on the little wooden train while rex sat in the wagon and shared his goldfish snack with gigi. they were so cute together! it started to sprinkle, so we went and picked out our pumpkins. by the time we picked out the pumpkins it was raining pretty hard. we went in the bakery quickly and got some sugar cookies decorated like pumpkins for the kids to eat on the way home. rex fell alseep on the way home with orange frosting all over his face, hands, coat, and carseat! 
• visiting with grandma val and cindy after nap for a little while. grandma gave the kids their scarecrow costumes she made them for halloween, as well as a bunch of other toys, clothes, and crafts! 
• went to a pizza and pj party at malloy's school. she had so much fun there! we ate pizza with some kids from her class and then played games and did crafts. the last activity was a story. all the kids sat on mats in the front and listened to pete's a pizza. rex was very tired but was a good boy. he spent a lot of time on neal's shoulders so that he was out of trouble!!

on saturday, we:

• met grandma val and cindy for breakfast at denny's and then went for a swim in the hotel pool. malloy was so excited to go swimming! and then she saw the pool. she must have picturing a wading pool like we went to all summer. she didn't want to go in the water and sat on the top step with her teeth chattering for quite some time. rex, on the other hand, LOVED the water. he was just floating around the pool very content. i was having rex "jump" into the pool. then malloy wanted to do the same, so both kids were jumping in the water. we ended with a nice big splash session :) 
• visited a little bit with grandma val and cindy in the afternoon. malloy did crafts with them - she made a pumpkin and colored on the paper that i covered the coffee table with.
• went to our friend titus' birthday party. he turned 3 a few weeks ago! the party was at leaps and bounce - a place with a bunch of different bounce houses inside! malloy was timid at first, but ended up having a great time!!! she was climbing up the big ladders and going down huge,fast slides all by herself!! rex loved the slides, too! neal would help him get up to the tip and send him down the slide to me. at the bottom of the slide, rex would just lay on his back until i helped him up. it was hysterical! they both left the party all red and sweaty! 

on sunday, we went to a breakfast and uncle paddy and auntie andi's. it was yummy!!! the kids had a great time chasing wally around the house. in the afternoon, just hung out and watched football. uncle ryan came over and we ordered chinese for dinner. both kids ate the chinese food!

rex has been going to bed a little bit later and is, in turn, sleeping in a bit later. he's now sleeping until 6-6:30! i'll take it!!
malloy started wearing underwear to bed on friday night - she's doing great! no accidents yet! i get her up and put her on the toilet before i go to bed. she can usually last the rest of the night without getting up. i'm so proud of her!!

this morning we had a playdate with friends. rex had a bunch of friends his age and malloy only had one little pal, parker, that was her age. he's a shy little guy and malloy kept yelling for him to come play in the playroom - "paaaaahhhhhkuh, paaaaaahhhhhhhkuuhhh" - so cute! after nap, malloy was snuggling on my lap and told me "my mouth does hurt". i checked in her mouth and she has a 2 yr. molar through on top and the other one is about to poke through! her mouth did hurt!! it's so nice that she's able to tell me these things!
