we've been enjoying our freedom, back into the routine after memorial day weekend and being sick! recap time!

tuesday:
we went to the gym and target in the morning. the kids were great in the store!! they were very patient and cooperative - phew! in the afternoon, we had to go back to target quickly and then stopped in the mall for about 20 minutes. malloy was so excited when i told her we were going to the mall. she thinks she's so cool just walking around on her own.

wednesday:
gym and then playdate at gianna and kenadee's! i don't know what we'd do without playdates! the kids both get so excited about going to our friends' houses! they had a great time and couldn't wait to give kenadee her birthday present. malloy, brooke, safina, and gianna were taking turns tying each other up in the jump rope and walking each other. one would be the dog and the other was the walker. malloy kept saying "ok, now tie me up." oh, the things you can do with a jump rope!!

rexy got a HUGE sliver in his foot. it was not fun getting it out!! after neal finally got it all out, rex limped around walking on his tiptoes on his injured foot. when i first tried to take the sliver out, he said "how bout you put a bandaid on it". nice try!!

today we went to the gym and then to wegmans. again, another successful trip to the store! i was expecting malloy to melt down when wkids wasn't open (we were there too early) but she was fine with it. she rode in the back of the cart for a bit and then stood on the back of the cart for the rest of the time. she's been very good and happy the past few days! i'm trying really hard to take time out of cleaning, cooking, tidying, etc. and play more. when we were home last week, we played a lot and it was fun!! it made me realize that i need to do this way more often!! taking the time to play more keeps the kids happy and there's less negative, attention seeking behaviors (go figure!!)
i have been thoroughly enjoying my kids lately!! they make me laugh and melt my heart 1000 times a day! rex's language has gone through the roof and the things he comes up with are great!  he has this huge personality now and i LOVE it! he's my little ham - always smiling, laughing, and joking. he's very over the top and outrageous - i have a feeling we'll be getting more than one phone call from a teacher because rex is being disruptive. he's got class clown written all over him! malloy laughs at him all the time and is loving that he can talk to her. they play so nice together about 85% of the time. it's a bit easier now that she can understand him and he tells her what he wants to do instead of just yanking a toy away from her. right now, i'd love to freeze time for a while (as long as they're sleeping at night!!) and enjoy malloy and rex at this age for a bit longer!
