ok! update time! let's see if i can remember everything!!!

starting with friday, may 25:
we spent the day packing to get ready for the kids' weekend with grandma and grandpa and for mommy and daddy's getaway to NYC. the kids stayed awake the entire ride home and were very excited to be at grandma val and grandpa don's! when i was saying goodnight to malloy she told me "you can leave now, mommy. aren't you leaving yet?"

saturday, may 26:

we said goodbye to malloy and rex in the morning and we had to beg them for hugs goodbye. i was a little emotional - they could care less! they were busy playing. they had a great day with grandma val and grandpa don - swimming, going to the park, swinging. that afternoon, they went to dinner, the park and for ice cream with grandma val, grandpa don, grandma tappy and grandpa gary. they had a blast!

sunday, may 27th:

i got a call in the morning that rex wouldn't stop crying. poor guy, we all just treated it like he was teething. he was miserable and slept most of the day. malloy had another great day with family and had a big picnic.

monday, may 28th:

neal and i got back in newark valley around 2. the kids were just getting up from naps. rex was whiny and unhappy. i finally got a glimpse of his throat and it was covered with red and white spots. turns out he had hand, foot, and mouth disease!! we decided to stay one more night and drive back home in the morning. rex had a terrible night, slept a bit in his crib, in our bed, on me in the recliner. he was in so much pain that he couldn't sleep.

tuesday, may 29th:

we drove back to buffalo first thing in the morning. we had to make a few stops. rex was miserable and cried most of the way back. we stopped and tried to give him a milkshake and ice chips, but he didn't want anything. neal did a great job keeping him happy the rest of the way home, thank goodness!!! the kids were happy to be home!! they were running around and playing with all of their toys - getting everything they could out. even rex, and he didn't feel well! i had to force him to eat some popsicles so that he'd have some liquid in him!

wednesday, may 30th:

we spent the whole day at home - played with a lot of toys and watched a lot of movies. trying to recuperate and rest. rex was feeling a little better and eating a little more.

thursday, may 31st:

another day at home! rex was feeling much better. they were both being very good and playing so nice together most of the time. they were being nice instead of bickering. we put quite a few stones in the happy jar for being so good!!

friday, june 1st:

still under quarantine at home. uncle ryan came over in the afternoon to play for a bit and then we all went out to dinner. rex was feeling well enough to eat some hotdog and drink a LOT of milk!

rex came out and told me "i want to paint robots and water" so we did! his language is growing every single day!

saturday, june 2nd:

malloy seems to have escaped the illness! rex was feeling much, much better today! he was pretty much back to his old self and eating much more. there was a lot of time spent with daddy today! they played with him upstairs, outside, in the playroom, all over.

sunday, june 3rd:

another daddy day!!! malloy and rex LOVE their daddy and can't be away from his side when he's home! if he's not in the room with them, they yell for him. it's great that they love him so much but it can be quite irritating when they won't let me help at all because they only want daddy to do it!!
malloy was baking in her kitchen in the playroom. she said "ok, i need oil and 45 chocolates." then she told neal that she put banana seeds in it while she was looking at her "recipe" which was really directions for rex's tool bench. it was great! i love seeing her "bake"!! such a little mommy! rex is pretty much all better. he's still teething - he's got one eye tooth and 3 more poking out. we're almost over this bout of teething! it's been months!!!
