today was pretty low key. we went to the gym and wegmans, had lunch, napped, played outside a bit, had dinner and then it was bedtime! sometimes the day goes by so fast! the kids had a great time playing with their daddy all day :)

friday update:
this morning, we went to the gym and then over to safina and emery's to play for a while. all the kids played so nice together. at one point, malloy was playing with emery and rex was playing with safina. they were just being so cute! malloy was hugging emery and then kissing her. and then squeezing her cheeks really hard. rex was copying everything that safina was doing and they were giggling away together! we went outside to play for a bit and eat lunch, then it was time to go home and take a nap. it took the kids FOREVER to fall asleep!! but when they finally woke up, neal came home and then grandma tappy and grandpa gary came to visit! we went out for a nice dinner with them. malloy was amazing at dinner and ate a lot of her meal all on her own without reminders to take a bite. i was so proud of her! rex was hilarious - he had us all laughing with his facial expressions and mannerisms! he was also playing a game with the bus boy - every time the guy would be within 5 feet of our table rex would scowl at him until he moved away. it was too funny. rex's new favorite expression is definitely the scowl!! after dinner we went out for ice cream. the kids tried their first rice pudding. malloy loved it, rex did not. then it was time to run around the yard for a bit before bedtime.

we had safina's birthday party today!!! it was a super fun tie-dye party! we (or i) got to tie-dye some t-shirts. i can't wait to see how they turn out!

today was busy and interesting! we went to the gym, came back so i could shower, then went to target to pick out a birthday present for our friend, safina. then it was off to wegmans. malloy was very excited to get to go in Wkids! she was very shy because there were older kids in there, but she still said she had a good time. we got back from the store around 1 and still needed to eat dinner. since neal was working later, i decided to try and skip naps today and just put them to bed early. so after lunch, we headed out to the zoo! we haven't been there in a while - the kids had a great time! we were only there for an hour or so. then we came home, took a bath and had dinner and a movie then it was off to bed! they were great considering that they didn't sleep! and they were asleep before 8! woohoo!

friday, we spent packing and getting ready to go visit the grandparents! after nap, i took the kids swimming to tire them out so that they'd sleep on the way home. they didn't. but they were good and kept busy!

saturday, we were all set and on our way to go visit great-grandma jean and great-grandpa don and then roro and papa hank when rex threw up all over himself twice in the car :( i asked him what happened and he kept saying "my yogurt, my yogurt". (he had just eaten a whole container of chobani yogurt) we had to turn around and go get rex some clean clothes and wash his car seat. we canceled our visits just in case rex was really sick. since he was fine after he got sick, i think he was just carsick and had a full belly. not a good combo!! later (after then kids unsuccessfully attempted a nap), we went to grandpa don and grandma val's house for some fun in the pool and a bbq with grandma tappy, grandpa gary, roro, and papa hank. the kids love running around in the huge yard and running up and down the hills! they ran themselves until they were completely exhausted. they fell asleep not even 2 minutes into the 3 minute drive back to grandma tappy and grandpa gary's house. they slept through us getting them out of the car, changing them into pjs, washing their faces, feet, and hands, and changing rex's diaper, and putting them down. they have NEVER done that before!

sunday we had a little get-together at the cole's house. malloy was so excited to see rachel and bella! she was glued to them the whole time we were there. it's so cute! rex was hanging out with them for a little bit, but was having fun hanging out with the guys, playing guitars with them. we could only stay for a little while and then it was off to tori's graduation party! malloy and rex discovered a little fountain in the yard and playing in that for quite a while. they spent some time swinging with roro, lounging in chairs, playing in the wood chips. at one point, malloy saw two little girls and wanted to badly to go talk to them. she was being incredibly shy so i went with her. the girls were 5. malloy wouldn't answer any questions the girls were asking her. somehow, we still ended up next door in the one little girl's yard playing on her swingset! still malloy really didn't talk to them. it's so strange to see her out of her element!!

today, after breakfast we packed up and then headed out for a quick visit with grandma val and then it was back home to buffalo! the trip was pretty uneventful, the kids were good. we had to stop a few times because malloy had to go to the bathroom. she was telling me that her belly hurt - i know she just had to go to the bathroom. the third time we stopped she finally went! the kids were happy to be home. they helped neal unload the car while i got dinner ready. we ate and then got ready for bed. tonight, we played with blocks instead of reading a book or doing a puzzle. i love that they're so flexible and willing to make compromises when it comes to the bedtime routine!
