the kids fight at times, but most of the time they get along so well! they pretending they were neighbors and having a sleepover together.
we spent some time at stiglmeier park this weekend. the kids loved walking on the trails in the woods and, of course, playing on the playground. they have monkey bars that are just malloy's size and she was determined to figure them out!! she's almost there.
we found a squirrel and watched it for a bit. it got scared and ran up a tree.
rex said "daddy, we're best friends forever" while he was walking and holding neal's hand.
malloy helped me make dinner last night! rex was helping daddy with the grill, so she came right in the kitchen asking what she can help with. so she seasoned all the chicken, cut up cucumber, and assembled our salads. she was such a great help! she told me that she wanted to be a baker when she grows up (she means chef, too). while she was cutting the cucumbers, she shook her head and said "being a baker's going to be a lot of work!"
malloy was running in flip flops and fell today while we were leaving the gym. she skinned her knees pretty bad and cried a bit. we listened to 'life is a highway' to take her mind off of the pain until we got back home - that worked a bit. we cleaned them up nice and personalized her bandaids. rex did one and malloy did one. she was so funny, limping around all day, asking for help off and on the couch. funny that she could run and climb at the park with neal, but couldn't walk around the house...hmmmmm
