what a perfect summer day!!! we went to the pool this morning and swam for a few hours with friends. brooke, ben, gianna, kenadee, leah, and taylor were there! 

after nap, we went to gianna and kenadee's for a cookout! it was still 80 degrees so the kids played in the water some more. they ate dinner, ran around a lot, then had some s'mores. it was still light out at 9pm when we left!!! welcome summer!!!

on wednesday, while we were at the zoo, malloy FINALLY learned how to skip!!! i was so proud of her, she's been trying for weeks!!!

when we got back from the zoo, i asked rex if he wanted his shoes back on or if he wanted to walk barefoot. he answered "i don't want to walk barefoot i want to walk lion foot!"

the kids were good today. we went to the gym, then target and  carter's. after swinging home to eat a snack, we had to head back out to wegmans. i feel like we were gone all day!! after dinner, malloy was asking me to draw a treasure map. it gave me an idea, so i ran out and hid some chocolate coins then ran back in and drew a map for each kid. malloy didn't know that i hid treasure so when she found it, her face lit up! she was all smiles and said "that was a REAL treasure hunt!!!" it was so much fun!

      i bought rex some new pjs today. both kids wore them to bed. how cute are their coordinated pjs?! good thing they wear the same size!!

friday 6/14: the kids filled their pom pom jars so we headed out to skyzone to do some jumping! when we got there, there was a line of school buses and a bunch of 5th graders getting out. we tried to wait in line to see if they were open to the public and a woman told us that they thought that skyzone had closed down for the class trip. we were very disappointed! rex was crying on the way back to the van. we decided to go pick out a toy and get ice cream instead! on our way to the store i had said "i'm bummed out!" malloy piped up "i'm not bummed out. i'm bummed in!" malloy picked out a riding unicorn toy and rex picked out a sully stuffed animal. then it was ice cream time! they pulled a switcheroo and rex got the blue ice cream and malloy chose green! we headed to the mall quick to return something and then went home for some lunch and a nap. after naps, it was time to drive to grandma and grandpa's house!! the kids did great on the drive down. they didn't go to sleep until after 11! yikes!!!

 saturday 6/15: we had an early start  - the kids were up at 5:15! after playing for a while, neal took them outside to run around and get tired out! they came in for a bath before naps and that's when rex fell and busted open his chin. malloy stayed with grandma and napped while neal and i took rex to urgent care. he got glued up and taped up and they sent him on his way! he did great!! after the doctor, rex got a toy and then we went to go get some bbq chicken at the fire station. while we waited for the chicken to cook, rex got to go inside the fire trucks! this was our first outing with just rex ever!!! he was loving the attention!! when we got back, malloy was waiting and came out yelling "rex! i missed you!"  we went to grandma val and grandpa don's for dinner with great-grandpa everett! it was a fun night. the kids love the tire swing and running up and down the hill!!

sunday 6/16: father's day! the kids made cards for all of the grandpas - they worked hard on them and were excited to give them out. we went to roro and papa hank's for a brunch and then to aunt mary and uncle gary's for a get together. we went back to grandma and grandpa's house to meet uncle ryan, aunt kari, and bella! the kids were SO excited that bella was there!!!

 monday 6/17:  we had breakfast with grandma and grandpa and said goodbye, then it was off to grandma val's for a bit before we went back to buffalo. the kids were happy to be home. they watched a movie then they took every single stuffed animal they owned, piled them, and jumped on them for an hour or so!

 tuesday 6/18:

today: we went to the gym in the morning and then headed out to the zoo with safina, emery, brooke, and ben! the kids got to play on the playground first - they were thrilled! we walked around with friend for a bit and then parted ways. we stayed at the zoo and looked at all the animals. on our way out, there was a man making balloon animals. we stopped and he made rex a lion and malloy a flower - it was very exciting for them. so exciting that they didn't sleep at all on the way home even though it was 3pm!

this morning, we went over to safina and emery's for a bit. the kids played a bit and ate lunch, then we headed out. the kids had quiet time in their rooms instead of napping. they're getting pretty good at playing on their own for a good hour - phew! 

we went to the gym and the kids got to play with safina and emery again! woohoo!!!

friday 6/7: we had a busy morning! the kids woke up, ate breakfast and then did some coloring and cutting. they watched an episode of daniel tiger, then it was onto building with marshmallows! that didn't last too long, they just ate as many marshmallows as they possibly could while they thought i wasn't looking. we had a little drum session with our marshmallow drumsticks. after that, we went in malloy's room and told scary stories in the dark with glowsticks. then it was off for a walk to find puddles! most of them had dried up and malloy was having trouble listening so we cut our walk short and came home for lunch and naps. i had to end up holding rex in my arms to get him to fall asleep! he needed to nap because we had fun plans for the night! we went to gianna and kenadee's for a cookout! the kids got to play with all of their friends - safina, emery, brooke, and ben were also there!! they had a blast!!! after dinner, it was s'mores time!! YUM!!!! it lightly rained the entire time but it was a ton of fun!!!

saturday 6/8: malloy got up and asked if she could make a mask. so we got right to work after breakfast making our masks! once the masks were done, malloy went off to find the perfect superhero outfit. i'm pretty sure she nailed it!! she picked out all of the components herself. :) we stayed home and played the rest of the day - it was a little cold and rainy. neal was in charge of dinner and bedtime so mommy could have some time away! thanks, neal!!! you're superdad!!!

sunday 6/9: the kids went to the park with daddy while i cleaned the house. naptime was interesting - rex was actually being quiet. i went in to check on him and his room smelled like poop. he told me he had poop in his pull-up. i checked and there was nothing there. then he showed me his fingers covered in poop - gross!! he had pulled the little poops out of his pants and threw them on the floor! fun!!! since i had no idea what he touched, i cleaned him up and washed EVERYTHING that was on his bed! he went upstairs to lay down with neal in our bed and finally napped! after naps, it was time to play outside! it was gorgeous out! we had some water play, dinner on the deck, and ice cream!

 monday 6/10: we had a playdate at our new friend, oliver's, house! the kids had so much fun playing with the new toys and dancing around to fun disney music! after the playdate, we went over to visit with uncle paddy and wally for a bit. malloy LOVES wally and was putting blankets on him, throwing toys for him, and both kids got to feed him treats. rex was loving some uncle paddy QT!!! at one point while we were there, rex ran over to me and said "i have to tell you a secret!" he cupped his hands around my ear and whispered "uncle paddy has bananas." it worked - he got a banana! we didn't get home until 3pm! it was great to have plans all day! both kids fell asleep 5 minutes from home.

tuesday 6/11:  nothing too eventful. we went to the gym in the morning, then stayed home the rest of the day. our fridge was finally fixed today!!! the benefit of having it out of commission was that it was so empty that i got to give it a good cleaning!!

today: we went over to safina and emery's to hang out this morning. we played outside and jumped on the trampoline a bit, then came in, had lunch, and then they played house. the kids were SO GOOD today!!! it was a good day!!
