first half of october

we had a fun time at the apple festival at the beginning of october! it was a bit rainy but we didn't let that stop us! malloy LOVED watching the blacksmith and had to stay and watch what he was making for quite a while. we got to hammer nails into logs and use other old tools. we did pumpkin painting, candle making, rex made a wreath and malloy made a corn husk doll. we got some candy apples to go and enjoyed them later by candle light from the candles made at the festival, so fun!

 we went over and helped roro and papa decorate for halloween. the kids had a blast. they ended up jumping in the leaves that papa was raking. we had a nice dinner afterwards. so nice to be back and able to visit more often!!

this happens often in the mornings. someone gets up too early and lays next to me quietly playing games so he doesn't wake anyone, especially his sister, up! 

 it was picture day! i took advantage of the beautiful fall scenery, nice weather, and well dressed children and did a mini photo shoot. i'm quite pleased with the outcome!!! this was a day where we were crying one minute, angry the next, giggling after that, and back to scowling! love my munchkins!

 malloy is reading all the time now! she will sit and sound out the words she doesn't know. she can be so patient when she wants to be!!
