2nd and 3rd week of school

 malloy tried out for the greater owego swim team (GOST) and made the beginner team! so proud of her and she'd so excited to start!! she was nervous when we got there but did great!

 we went to the library and were happy to find that one of the posts downstairs was painted with chalkboard paint. malloy thought this was AMAZING!

i love that the kids sometimes wake up and read in their rooms!! they love books!

malloy really wants to learn how to ride a bike without training wheels. neal took her out and had her ride up and down the street while he was holding onto her seat.

malloy got some practice but was frustrated that it was hard. we took the training wheels and pedals off of both kids' bikes to let them get a feel for balancing. they can use their feet to push themselves and catch themselves with their feet immediately. malloy got the hang of it right away, rex had a harder time but kept practicing!!

rex had a birthday party to go to for one of his friends at chuck e. cheese. he was SO excited it was chuck e, cheese!!!! malloy also went with us because neal had shingles and was not feeling well at all. we had a great time!!!

after we left the party, we stopped at kohl's quickly to return something. the kids wore their glow in the dark vampire teeth into the store. the woman at customer service got a good chuckle out of them and said that they made her night! 

since we were at chuck e. cheese for so long, i thought for sure the kids were going to pass out on the way home but they didn't. and then they wanted a snack and then they were being crazy! they were  acting out the acronyms on the new fridge magnets we got.

cozy for fall

grandpa bruce gave us a bunch of plants and we spent the morning re-potting plants. malloy was in charge of dirt and rex was in charge of watering. malloy was very interested in this project and started just digging in, finding the roots, pulling them out and planting them! i love her confidence and yearning to learn about everything and anything!

malloy wanted to practice balancing on her bike. she rode up and down the street and her balancing is getting much better!!!

breakfast has been taking forever lately. i ask them what they want for breakfast and get no response. so i ask again. and again, and again. i run through the breakfast options that don't ever really change only to find that they haven't really been listening, so i tell them again. this gets very frustrating, especially on school days!!! so i made breakfast magnets where the kids can just come down, pick what they want and put it under their name. it works swimmingly!!!! our mornings are so much easier!

the kids had a talent show. rex was pumped about breakdancing and doing whatever he wanted on stage. he danced to rotten to the core from the disney descendants soundtrack. he was amazing!!! who would have thought that this kid would be up on stage with so much confidence!
malloy was signed up to dance, too, but her nerves got the best of her. she cried when it was her turn and just couldn't get up there. there's always next year!
