thursday 2/27: cuddly kids
friday 2/28: malloy LOVES to take care of her baby dolls and stuffed animals. she talks to all of her friends like they're babies. so i figured she'd like real live ones! she was loving "holding" our friend Sam and is dying to go to her house and "babysit" Sam and Cam!
we are back to not napping most of the time. rex refuses unless you lay with him for 2.5 hours to get him still enough to fall asleep - not worth it!!! and malloy does well with going to bed at 6:30 when she needs to be up at 6am for school. i've been trying to plan more activities to keep them occupied rather than just watching a movie. we had a fun afternoon of baking chocolate chip muffins and butterscotch bread. then we did some experimenting with baking soda and vinegar. this kept the kids busy for an entire hour!!!! it was a hit!!
saturday 3/1: we spent the day at home. napped, and then went to brew pub for dinner! it was nice to get out and have some nice family time!
malloy learned how to make fishtail bracelets and and will sit for long periods of time making them. she made her first one for rex's friend, cadence, because we were going to her birthday party the next day!
sunday 3/2: we spent a good portion of our day at the museum of science! rex's friend, cadence, had a pirate themed birthday there. it was so fun!!! then we hung out and showed daddy the museum since he hadn't been there in a long time!
monday 3/3: this week is dr. suess week at malloy's school. today was crazy sock day for Fox in Sox!
we played school this afternoon. malloy was the teacher and she started writing on the white board like she knew what she was doing. and she did! she wrote "today is" all on her own, spelling and all!
rex was the science teacher and he had a "great idea" for an experiment. he just kept saying "put the green food coloring in the bowl." and then he decided that we needed glue and glitter added to it and then they'd play in it with their hands.
this resulted in green stained hands for the rest of the day!
green eggs and ham sandwich for lunch!
