HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY REX!!!

today's the day! rex is 5!!! he picked out a bavarian cream filled donut at the store the day before to have for his birthday breakfast. after he ate as much as he could, it was time to open his present - a skylander's video game! it's all he wanted and he was so so excited!

 we invited all of our family in the area to come celebrate rex's birthday! it was quite a day!!! we are so lucky to have so much family to celebrate with!!

he has forgotten how to smile for the camera...

 this girl may be trouble some day!! 

 malloy LOVES her cousin addy!!! i think the feeling might be mutual

it was hot hot HOT out!!! glad we have a pool to chill out in!! 

the kids rooms were SO hot at bedtime, so i turned their ac on and  we went for a night time swim while the rooms cooled off. i put some glow sticks inside balloons and we took them in the water. malloy said "mom! you're so rad!" we all had a great time in the pool!

 i asked rex to give me a big 5 year old smile before bed and he, again, tried but has completely forgotten how to smile on command for some reason?! so strange!!!!

superheroes!! 

malloy came down from playing in grandma and grandpa's yard and had made a beautiful hairpiece! love my little flower child!

i set up a little friend birthday party for rex. lincoln ended up being the only one to come, but rex had a blast!! he didn't care at all that his party was with one friend!!! grandma and grandpa came down for some brownies and ice cream to help celebrate!

after dinner, malloy wanted to go play in the bushes at grandma's. so we went over and they played outside in the bushes and then with squirt guns. they were squirting themselves down the shirt and pants and all over and ended up being soaked! they stripped down and watched some tv while their clothes dried and i helped grandma make rex a shirt for his birthday party.

malloy helped grandma make a pillow for rex for his birthday. he LOVES it spent all morning looking at the guys, picking two and mashing their names together to make a new superhero.

the kids helped daddy make a firepit in the backyard. while bringing the rocks out, they found salamaders! rex came ripping through the house calling for me - i thought someone had gotten hurt! nope - just salamanders.

the kids got their letters from school!!! malloy has mrs. ceruti for first grade and rex got mrs. woods!! hooray!! both kids are happy and excited for school!!

we went to a family reuion today and met some family today. the kids were playing with the ball with some distant cousins and rex stepped on the ball, went flying in the air and landed on his head! everyone thought he had a concussion, it was scary for a while. but he pulled through and is fine! grandpa gary came and picked malloy up at the reunion. she was going to go mini-golfing, to dinner, and back to grandpa's house to spend the night with bella! before she got in the car, she was crying that her stomach hurt. i don't know if it was nerves or if she was overheated/dehydrated or what, but she went with grandpa anyway, and ended up having a great time (aside from a few crying bits b/c she was hungry and hurt herself!). she called me from grandpa's later that night and was all happy. little cutie!! when did she get so big?! grandpa said in the morning, he was snoozing while watching tv and when he woke up, the girls had made paper mustaches and glasses and were sticking them on his face! i wish there were pictures of that!!

while malloy was with grandpa gary, we took rex to pizza hut for dinner. he got a personal pan pizza and was so excited to just spend some time with just mom and dad!! at one point he just got up and hugged the both of us individually. sweatheart! then, we went home and ended up watching spiderman and having ice cream and popcorn. he was happy as could be!!

quick trip to the store on the way home. loving some daddy time!
