it's been chilly in the morning, so sometimes the kids hop into our bed to stay warm while i wake up (it takes me a while and they know that!) 

 we took a trip to stoughton farms to pick up some corn. the kids were loving the slides there and were not happy when we had to leave!

 aunt amy dropped off some perler beads the other day and we've been playing with them ever since!!!!! hours of entertainment!!!!

 the kids were running around the house this morning, laughing, yelling and screaming. nothing new! we NEEDED to get some energy out! i came up with "activity candyland". i made a bunch of activities and math problems on cards and colored them to match the candyland colors. we played regular candyland and after we moved the guys, we picked the matching color and did the activity. it was a hit!!!

 rex got his first birthday card! great grandpa everett sent him a card and birthday money. he got right to work on sending my a thank you card! it was his first thank you card that we wrote all on his own!!!! proud mama!!!

at bedtime, i ask the kids questions about their day: 

-what's your favorite part of the day?

-what was something that made you laugh?

-what was something that made you sad or mad?

-what did you learn today?

-what did you do kind today?

so last night i asked rex what his favorite part of the day was and he told me that he had 8 and that he was going to give me clues and i'd have to guess! this kid is always coming up with crazy things! so one of his clues was "hi!" that was for when daddy came home from his visit in buffalo. he acted out eating for eating dinner, etc. it was just one of those moment where you want to freeze time and just enjoy his little brain!!!!

newark valley days

today was newark valley days! we started out by watching the parade and collecting a BUNCH of candy! aunt kari and addy joined us for the day!

 malloy ran into a bunch of friends and they had a blast!

they had pony rides at the depot! malloy was excited about it. rex wanted to do it and then backed out and then changed his mind. he went through with it, very nervous first, but ended up liking it.

we had a family bbq tonight for dinner with grandpa don, grandma val, grandpa gary, melissa, roro and papa, aunt amy and kassie. aunt amy brought the kids some toys and rex loved them!!!

OLA Bazaar

we went to the OLA bazaar tonight with grandma val, grandpa don, roro, papa. aunt amy and kassie after a nice long nap. the kids a great time playing games and winning prizes! kassie's friend won a big stuffed plankton and gave it to rex! he was thrilled! malloy didn't react at all. if she was disappointed, she did't show it! i was so proud of her and told her as much. she's growing up!!! we also got cotton candy and pizza frites before going home. the kids were happy to see their beds when we got home!
