monday 4/8 - it was back to school today for malloy! after school, we went to the park to play - it was so nice out!!!

tuesday 4/9 - happy birthday, grandma tappy! :) 

 the kids had dentist appointments this morning. they were SO excited to go! i've really never seen two kids so excited to go to the dentist!!! (wish i had some of their enthusiasm about it!!!) they did great - all clean, no cavities. when we got home, our friends safina and emery came over to play for a bit - fun!!! 

 wednesday 4/10 - we celebrated malloy's birthday in her class today. she requested cotton candy flavored frosting. they were a hit! she loved wearing her crown she decorated and being the birthday girl for one more day. at one point, the teacher had a letter M and she said "M for monkey and moon." malloy pipes in "um, you're forgetting something else that starts with M! the birthday girl!"

 in the afternoon, we watched safina and emery. they came in their pjs in case they stayed late and they just happened to be pjs that malloy had, too! of course, she immediately put them on with a pink headband that matched safina's! the girls had a great time playing! rex was feeling a little left out so he and i did stickers together for quite a while. then it was dinner time! we had pancakes and sausage. and then cupcakes. and then popcorn and mary poppins!

 4/11 thursday - it was a rainy, lazy morning! the kids played so nicely together with these little people houses (they've been in the basement for quite some time - i got them out because i thought emery would like them - malloy and rex loved them more!). this gave me some time to drink some coffee and wake up a bit. then we continued to lounge in our pjs and watch a movie. we finally got out and went to the gym at least!
when we got to the gym, next door duff's was gearing up for the lunch crowd. malloy sniffed the air and said "it smells like chicken wings. can we get chicken wings for lunch?!"  it was really hard to say no! daddy ended up bringing chicken wings and pizza home for dinner!

friday 4/12 - the kids went to school and then we hung out at home for the rest of the day. daddy was home sick with a bit of a stomach bug today and the kids were so concerned. the first thing rex asked when he woke up in the morning was "is daddy's belly still hurtin'?" malloy asked about every 5 minutes if daddy was feeling better.

thursday 4/4: happy birthday uncle paddy! 

we went to the gym and then ran errands in the morning. it was lunch time and we were right be cheeburger, so we stopped in for lunch - yum!

friday 4/5: birthday party day! malloy had her pj party with friends today. she was SO excited and had a great time!!! the kids played, made munch necklaces (with pretzels, yogurt covered pretzels, fruit loops, and peach rings), opened presents, had donuts, watched a show with their blankets and munchie necklaces, and then played some more!
malloy had some downtime in her room after the party - she watched a movie on my computer with her headphones while i put rex down for a nap. he was exhausted but needed some cuddling to fall asleep. too much sugar!!!
we went to red lobster for dinner - malloy's choice. the staff came over and sang happy birthday to her. when they started singing, malloy slid down in her chair until only her eyes were showing above the table. it was hilarious! we got the kids ice cream sundaes - malloy didn't want hers at all. she wanted the cheesecake that neal and i got to split. she ended up eating most of ours!!

we set up a balloon avalanche for malloy so when she opened her door in the morning, balloons would fall on her. she ended up flinging the door open and running out of her room so fast that she didn't see the balloons - they all fell behind her! woops! 

saturday 4/6 - happy 4th birthday, malloy!  

malloy was the last to wake up today! she immediately opened her presents from us and auntie elaine (we saved the packages she sent for today!). malloy got princess barbies, a cinderella magnet set, and a pinkalicious sticker book from us. auntie elaine sent her a squinkies carousel set, monster feet, and snow white legos! rex also got some stuff from auntie elaine - buzz lightyear wings and a robot sticker book - he LOVED both!! 

grandma val and grandpa don came to visit for malloy's birthday! malloy was thrown off at first because her morning of quiet play was interrupted. she was mad and pouting. i've been talking to her about expressing how she feels instead of pouting, so she came up to me and told me "i'm mad" and then explained that she was mad because she didn't want to talk to anyone and people were making her talk. understandable. we talked about how people want to see her on her special day, that's all. she snapped out of it pretty quickly. 

grandpa and grandma had one more gift for the kids - big wheels! (rex's was an early birthday present). we ate lunch and then went to the park to try out the bikes! malloy LOVED it and was speeding around. rex couldn't quite reach the pedals all the way and had fun but didn't like it as much. we played on the playground for a bit and then went back home for naps. 

after nap, we met up with grandma, grandpa, uncle paddy, auntie andi, and our friend atman for dinner and then went to uncle paddy and auntie andi's for dessert. the kids had a blast playing with atman and wally! malloy spent a lot of time trying to get wally to listen to her. it was so cute!! she did get to give him some treats and loved when he licked her. 

the kids ate their left over chicken fingers and french fries at 8:30pm on the way back to our house. the didn't go to bed until 9:30 - yikes! but they were well behaved and it doesn't happen all the time!

 grandma and grandpa came over for breakfast today. malloy and rex played elefun, the present from uncle paddy and auntie andi, all morning. they love it! we said goodbye to grandma and grandpa and then played with stickers for quite some time. it was a nice relaxing sunday morning. after naps, malloy watched the wizard of oz with neal and then once rex woke up, everyone went outside while i made dinner. we had tacos - a favorite!! (even rex eats the whole meal by himself!) then took a bath and went to bed. malloy took a while to get to sleep. i think she may need to be done taking naps...hmmmm....
