spring break and easter!!

friday 4/11

malloy had off from school on the friday before spring break. we went out and had a little breakfast together. someone is a HUGE panera fan, now! malloy was SO happy to be hanging out - just the two of us!! so sweet!

auntie ali sent malloy a fairy garden for her birthday. she was thrilled and had to start working on it immediately!!!

we went to charlie the butcher's for dinner! yum!!!

saturday 4/12

we packed up the van and headed to stay with grandma tappy and grandpa gary for the week!! we had a 60th birthday party for grandma at uncle ryan and aunt kari's house. it was a nice day and the kids were thrilled to play outside the whole time!!

sunday 4/13 - we went over to grandma val and grandpa don's for the afternoon. it was another nice day!!! time for long walks, adventures in the creek, lunch on the deck, and popsicles!!

monday 4/14: daddy had to work all week so we had to get out of the house and let me get his work done. we went to grandma val and grandpa don's to spend the day! we went for a walk, had adventures outside, played with their new computers, went to the park and for ice cream with bella and aunt kari, bbq with family for dinner and an easter egg hunt!!!

tuesday 4/15: another day at grandma val and grandpa don's! we did lots of art in the morning and watched frozen with grandma in the afternoon!

malloy asked me tonight if she could try and read a book. she did great!! when she's determined to do something, she does it!!

wednesday 4/16: we went to mcdonald's play place and got ice cream with ahneka and then went to roro and papa's for the afternoon!

thursday 4/17: we played at grandma tappy and grandpa gary's in the morning. malloy helped wash rex in the shower this morning. she loves helping him and he loves her help most of the time!

after we did hair, we played princess school. it was fun and a good way to go over rules on how we should act in general!!!! it seemed to work a bit!

we went over to grandma val's to dye easter eggs!!! so much fun!! kassie and aunt amy came over to help!! we went to dinner with daddy, grandma tappy and grandma gary, and grandma val.

friday 4/18: daddy was supposed to have off from work, but there were some major issues that he had to work on. we went out and hid eggs in the yard and had a few easter egg hunts, then went to subway to get some lunch. in the afternoon, we made some play-doh out of peeps and played with that a bit. malloy helped me do dishes, empty the dishwasher, and fold laundry. she loves being a helper!!!!

saturday 4/19: we went to the movies today for the first time!!!! we saw the lego movie. the movie had just started and malloy looked over at me and said , beaming, "i can't believe this is really happening to me!" she was so great - taking everything in, inspecting the seats, looking at all the people, figuring out where the movie came from! at one point, both kids crawled into the same chair and were snuggling. adorable!!!

sunday 4/20: happy easter!!!!

we went to roro and papa's and had a nice easter lunch and egg hunt and spent some time outside in the sun!!!! what a wonderful day!!!

then we went back to chapman's for dinner!!! they kids got some quality bella time in!!!

monday 4/21: we headed back to buffalo today! it was gorgeous out so we spent the rest of the day outside! riding bikes and scooters, grilling burgers, running around! it was great!

tuesday 4/22: i was talking to the kids today about me going away for the weekend and malloy started bawling! she was clung to me for a long time! usually she's super excited to spend the weekend with just daddy!!!

malloy had her 5 yr check up today. she's 43.5 lbs (75th percentile) and 45 inches (90th percentile). the doctor told her that she was very advanced for her age (no news there!!!) she also told us that she had a double ear infection and rhinitis (swelling and inflammation in the nostrils). she was prescribed medicine for both. she's also going in to get bloodwork done because the dr. said she definitely looks like she has allergies - the bags under her eyes and some swelling around her sinuses. she also got 2 shots - no tears, she did awesome!! she said they hurt but that was it!

our neighbor brought over candy for the kids this morning. so thoughtful!

it was a nice day today!! malloy wanted to wear her easter dress from last year today. it still fits great!!! the kids were pretty lovey today (after i made malloy take a nap b/c she was being grumpy and rude). it's cute when they pal around!!!

"unexpectable!"

whenever there's hitting or yelling going on, i will often say to malloy and rex "that behavior is unacceptable." the other day, malloy was furious with rex about something and she yells "rex! that is unexpectable!" i was giggling in the other room. i love her and the way she tries so hard to be a mommy (even though most of the time it's quite annoying!!!)

malloy found the dress for her build-a-bear and it looks just like an elsa dress! she was so excited to have an elsa bear!!!

it was sunny (but really windy!) so we ventured out to the playground for some sunshine and activity! when we got back in the van, malloy had about 50 new freckles!! i LOVE the way the freckles pop up all over her face!!!! hooray for warmer weather! rex made a friend on the playground and played with him the whole time, going down the slides together and laughing - i love that he loves to play with other kids!! you'd think malloy would be able to do the same, but she is much more reserved and will look at kids (and ignore them) like they have something seriously wrong with them if they say hi to her.
